Sittingbullies

My good friend Jeanne McClelland had just lost her special Bulldog unexpectedly and was wanting to get a puppy from a local litter that Gabe had just sired. The litter was born just before we drove across Canada to film his movie The Dogfather and they were ready to head off to their new homes just after we returned home from the shoot. The problem was that Jeanne’s house was all torn apart with a big remodel project–and Jeanne decided to get not just one, but TWO little girls from the litter! I offered to take the puppies for a couple months while she finished up her remodel and so the girls attended the “Sittingbullies Boot Camp”. By the time Jeanne was ready to bring Angel and her sister Gabby home they were pretty much house-trained and had a good handle on all of the basic manners: walking on a leash, sitting and waiting for their food, down, come, etc. In exchange for my help, Jeanne insisted on giving me co-ownership and breeding rights to both girls–and as a result my current line has descended directly from these two Gabe daughters, with my special keepers coming from Angel.

Angel was the feminine version of her Daddy and looked the most like him of any of his pups–male or female–that he sired. While she spent most of her life with Jeanne, she came to stay during her “Mutternity Leave” as well as for a few refresher training courses. Even with minimal training and time working with me Angel easily earned her Rally Novice title (including a perfect score of 100) as well as her Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice titles. I will forever be grateful to Jeanne for allowing me to carry on my line through this special girl!

The ANGeLiC SWoOSH LiTTeR: Angel had one large litter of eight beautiful puppies (with seven surviving) sired by one of the top-winning Bulldogs of all time, GCHP CH B-Loved Nothing But Net, aka “Swoosh”. The litter was named for British phrases: Hunky-Dory, Tickity Boo, Beez Knees, Jolly Good, Pip Pip Cheerio–and my extra special keeper, Just Ducky! Several pups went to wonderful performance & show homes and made us proud in a variety of doggy sports as well as the breed ring.
