I never keep boys. And had no intention of keeping this big white boy with the distinctive apple spot on his back–but he just wouldn’t leave! After having two wonderful homes fall through and another in the works that would pick him up after recovering from back surgery I started doing what I always do with my dogs and proceeded to put four titles on him. One day I brought out the rocking horse and soon he had mastered our most unique trick and I decided this boy wasn’t going anywhere! And I never regretted it! 

Gabe created a plethora of memories and accomplishments that would be astounding for a dozen dogs. So much was crammed into his lifetime that it felt like he lived for decades rather than just shy of 11 years. His National TV portfolio extended from being crowned the 2008 Worldwide Fido at just over a year old to winning Harry Connick Jr’s Animal Idol at well past his 10-year mark–with appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent and star of the family comedy The Dogfather all sandwiched in between…and all in his “spare time”!

Gabe garnered over 30 titles in 10 different dog sports including: Multiple Breed Championships, Advanced Obedience, Agility, Rally, Coursing, Carting, Barn Hunt, Therapy, Herding and Trick Dog. He was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame for Companion Events and is a BCA Platinum Ambassador for Health and Versatile Bulldog Diamond Award recipient as well as an AKC ACE Award Honoree. Gabe’s progeny have continued his winning ways and are carrying on his incredible legacy and his memories will continue to circuit the globe via viral videos, photos, cards and DVDs. My Bubby Boy made good and sure he would never be forgotten!

As a side note, due to an oversight on my part Sherri Feeney’s name (of Beautibully Bulldogs) was left off of Gabe’s dam’s registration papers. Sherri also owned his sire and  should have been listed as a co-breeder on this litter that produced TWO BCA Performance Hall of Fame inductees. Huge credit goes to her for making this wonderful litter possible–and giving me the springboard for my Sittingbullies kennel.
